Childhood Diseases Archives

This mother is looking for photos of the world to show to her son before he loses all his remaining eyesight from a rare/incurable disease. Go to yahoo, punch in “colton meyer” and his webpage is the first one listed. Very touching and sad…

Would you like to help save a child?

I am volunteering for UNICEF and have set up a web site to take donations (which go directly to UNICEF) to help aid the world’s children who are in need of Emergency Response situations.

I started off the donations with the 1st pledge, and have set a goal of $1K. Please help me reach [and exceed] that goal. Let’s save some of these children who desperately need our help. Click on the link below to help. Every little bit counts. :)

Thanks,

Jitna

$17 can immunize a child against the 6 major childhood diseases.

$40 can provide large wool blankets to protect ten children from the cold/winter weather during an emergency.

$60 can provide enough vaccine to immunize 60 children against polio.

$101 can provide 10 families with a Basic Family Water kit for use during emergencies.

$648 can buy a Supplementary Dry Feeding kit that contains equipment for mixing and distributing food, enough to feed 500 moderately malnourished children

To be more exact, how at risk am I to develop non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I was diagnosed as obese at age 15 and my weight has only gone up since then. At time of diagnosis, I weighed roughly 245 and now I weigh 315. I am 21 now.
No, I’m not aiming for this disease. I would just like to know how at risk I am for developing this.
I have just started nursing school.

what is your reaction about genetic engineering?

nowadays people are using the procedure, known as preimplantation genetic diagnosis, or P.G.D.to screen for genes certain that cause childhood diseases that are severe and largely untreatable. what is your reaction to this??r what o you think about this.??is it right or wrong?

I have always been a very healthy person since birth. I’ve never had any childhood diseases, no allergies, I only get two colds twice a year due to the changing of the seasons, and I am sick with the flu on a rare occasion. However, ever since I moved into my new house a year and a half ago, (which has forced air heat) I have been constantly catching colds, having sinus problems and/or constant congestion.

I ask this because my sister decided that she is not going to vaccinate her baby when he is born because of the risk of Autism and cancers. Vaccinations have made most childhood diseases virtually disappear. And they cannot scientifically prove that vaccines cause autism. I strongly feel that the benefits of vaccines by far out weigh the risks of vaccines. I personally do not ever want to see any of those diseases come back! How about you?
I’m glad to see you all see the logical side of this. Thank you!

My father’s early childhood disease mystery?

My father told me about a disease/virus he had when he was about 6 years old in Pakistan. This was about 45 years ago. The doctors back then had no idea what the sickness was, but it lasted for many years.

Symptoms:

Extreme weakness,
Darkening/yellowing of the skin
Skin became wrinkley
He couldnt move much and had back pains
Diarrhea,
Long term fever.

He finally recovered completely from this about 5 years later. I was thinking it might be Yellow fever, but I’m not sure if it lasts for that long. Also this was in Pakistan about 45 years ago. He nearly died from it, and the doctors said that he didn’t have that much time.

I’m not familiar with too many diseases; I’m hoping someone out there might aid us in search of what disease he had. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have friend who has a lung desease from early childhood. He asked me help him to find free treatment where ever in the world. he doesn’t know english, that’s problem only. Please, assist to find way to keep him alive.
